Did the new privacy rules change the 100/150 rule?

Are we still observing the rule that profiles should be open if the person was born 150 years ago or died 100 years ago?

"Did you see that all profiles of people who were born 150 years ago or who died 100 years ago must now be Open?

I'm aware that my suggestion will create more work. But here goes:

Could an automatic "sweep" to open profiles in the "150/100 " eliminate a lot of difficulties for those of us trying to merge older privacy-locked profiles managed by inattentive folk?

Just asking. Exceptions always apply, of course.

I have been able to get them open with the request feature on the profile. If this were to be automated I would add the marriage date, 130 years? Sometimes that is the only date on the profile. Another level would be having children born, say 130 years ago. If they have no dates, but the children do, this would indicate they are older. I suppose you could add parents born 200 years ago.

It is nice having people with no dates listed on the error report. A data doctor challenge would be to add at least one date (mark uncertain) if an actual date can't be found.

When trying to find if people are already on the tree, dates are really helpful.

Dorothy, If anyone opens a profile that fits the date range that requires it to be Open the change is automatic. Nothing has changed about those profiles in that date range and the current methods have worked fine for over a year so I see no reason for "automating" this further.

You're wonderful, Dale! Thanks!

Was thinking about the folks who are struggling to do changes by getting approval to merge "green" locks even after approval by the PM has been given .
