It seems unlikely to me that Nicholas Cady Sr. is the son of Nicholas Catt and Christobel Allchorne. The reasons for my concern are:
1. Different surnames. Similar enough and not a deal breaker on its own.
2. Different place of birth. Nicholas Cady Snr. was born in Lethringham, Suffolk while Nicholas Catt was born and died in Rotherfield, Sussex. All his children (except Nicholas Cady?) were born there too.
3. Nicholas Catt already has a son, Nicholas (born 1579) who is still living when Nicholas Cady was born.
4. George Catt, son of Nicholas and Christobel, was christened on 24 Nov 1588, the same year that Nicholas Cady was born. Admittedly, that's a born about estimate for Nicholas Cady.
The only "evidence" I can find is 7 identical family trees on familysearch.org showing the above relationship and an Ancestry tree that I cannot see (not a paying member).
Does anyone have a source that I can see for what looks like a dubious parent child relationship?
