How to confirm Jewish blood?

There are many Jewish names on both sides of my mainly Dutch family, going back for many generatiions - Abraham, Isaak, Jacob, Balthazar, Zacharina etc. These are not your average Dutch names. I had my DNA tested by Ancestry and it did not mention any Jewish ancestry at all. My question is, does Jewishness appear in a DNA test?

Any ideas or help would be appreciated, thank you in advance.

I just checked out your family tree. I didn't know that the name INEKE was a surname? I have only ever seen it used as a girls first name. My family had a close friend from Holland who emigrated to NZ and her first name was Ineke. Cannot remember what her last name was - I haven't seen or spoken to her for close to 20 years.

Edited to add - Now I remember - her surname was Stoll.
It is a surname (fairly unusual) as well as a first name.
Thanks.

You could upload your DNA to both My Heritage and to FT DNA - for free. Both will take a couple of days to upload and be procesed.

You only pay at FT DNA if you want to use their chromosome browser. I think the My Heritage Chromosome browser is much nicer looking, and more colourful, and that is free.

And then there is GED match as well if you haven't already done so.

But yes My Heritage does test for Jewish ancestry and they can differentiate between Ashkenazi jewish and Sephardic Jewish blood. I even saw one ethnic map for someone who had both ashkenazi and sephardic jewish blood!!

This person was dutch as well. The Netherlands do have a history of Sephardic Jewish communities when the Netherlands were under  Spanish control.

Thank you so much for your reply. However, I'm not sure what a GED match is or what FT DNA is.
GEDmatch is a free website that allows your DNA to be matched to anyone else who has uploaded their DNA results there, no matter what company they used.

FT DNA is another DNA company that sells DNA testing kits just like My Heritage and Ancestry and 23/me do.

Ancestry and 23/me do NOT allow uploads of the competitions DNA test results to their databases. FT DNA and My Heritage do allow these uploads.
