What can you do if you get no reply to a pending merge?

I'm new to WikiTree, I think the concept is great but I'm not so sure about the practice.

I  have questions:

What can be done when the manager of a profile is no longer active in WikiTree and there are pending merges that are being held up? Is it then ok to create a duplicate individual?

I have contacted several people about common ancestors and asked for permission to link to their profiles but I don't seem to get any responses after two weeks. I'm willing to wait longer but at some point I'd like to proceed.

What do you do if a profile has incorrect information but the manager is not willing to change it?

Thanks

Hi Eugene,

There are actions that can be taken when profile managers are no longer active on WikiTree. See Unresponsive Profile Managers.

Also, if a profile you want to merge is a historically-significant ancestor, Supervisors (like myself) can perform the merge without the cooperation of the other profile manager. This allows us to clean up the many duplicates of famous ancestors.
