Who wrote stickers for 1776 and Civil War Profiles?

I have yet to get a Sticker to work for 1776 profiles or Civil War profiles IF the correct data is entered. I finally forced a Civil War one to work by playing around with the data but it bothered me to know it wasn't correct.

Now I'm working on a 1776 profile and, again, the Sticker won't work.  I think I could probably massage it until it does work but I have to draw the line somewhere.

Would the individual who wrote these two Stickers please contact me?

I don't understand why no one has contacted me and no one has commented on this request.  Surely I'm not the only person in the WikiTree community who is having a hard time getting these stickers to work.

If you can, Judy, move your question to WikiTree Help, and add tags for 1776, templates, projects, and us_history.

Those changes may bring your question to the attention of project members who can help you.

Lindy, I originally had my question on WikiTree Help but I did not have all of the tags you suggested.  Thank you very much.

Judy, I checked the profile in question and it appears that template is working correctly. Is it possible that you are seeing the generated category in red on the profile? In this case, this is not an error, just a notice that the category created by the template does not yet exist (that category needs to be created by providing links to the category hierarchy).

If that is not the issue you are facing, please explain exactly what problem is being encountered so someone can look into it further.

Also, the James Williams linked to in your question did not serve in the Ninety-Six District Militia...

"In November of 1775, James Williams was elected as a Captain to lead a company within the Little River District Regiment (militia), and he served under Col. John Lindsey. He was promoted to Major in mid-1776, and to Lt. Colonel later in 1776. By February of 1777, he assumed command of the Little River District Regiment (militia) as a Lt. Colonel. In September of 1779, he became Colonel."

James WIlliams was also commissioned as a Brigadier General in late September or early October of 1780 by Gov. John Rutledge.

If you don't mind, I will go ahead and honor this patriot by working on the 1776 Template for his profile and connecting the categories as needed.

Thank you, Steven.  This is what my research says:

In 1776, the Ninety-Six District militia split into Loyalist and Patriot factions. Williams was made a lieutenant colonel of a regiment, but he had to recruit and train the new men. He succeeded in organizing a militia group, but pressure from Britain and her Indian allies meant that Williams always had to leave some troops behind for home defense. Williams led forces of local men into action at nearby Briar Creek and Stone Ferry, and as far afield as the expedition to the Second Battle of Savannah.

On August 19, 1780 he led his detachment into the Battle of Musgrove Mill. The Patriots' success there, even in such a limited engagement and coming so soon after the disaster of Camden, earned him a promotion to colonel.

On 7 October 1780 he was mortally wounded at the Battle of Kings Mountain and died the next day.  The South Carolina Provincial Congress had promoted Williams to the rank of Brigadier General but he died before the commission could be delivered.

I guess James Williams was hardly an unusual name.  The James Williams you described doesn't sound like my family member.

Colonel James Williams was the brother of my third great grandmother, Marya Williams Goodman.  I guess that makes him my third great greatuncle  --  doesn't sound quite right, does it?

Are you the same person who wrote the Civil War Sticker?
