Edmund Sutton (1425-1486) is my 16th great grandfather.

He is my 16th g grandfather too
John Sutton KG,is my 9th cousin,15 times removed.
I just did my geneology today, and I think so!! I discovered my relatives took the surname of the castle but originated as de Suttons! (Or de Sudtone possibly further back)
He is my 16th great grandfather as well.

Lucy Dudley Blaisdell was one of my great grand mother's , I think third great grandmother. She was daughter of John Dudley, son of Paul Dudley, son of Thomas Dudley, William Dudley, Joseph Dudley, Thomas Dudley, Roger Dudley, Henry Sutton, John dudley Lord, Edward Dudley Sutton etc..
by

Anne Dudley married Simon Bradstreet. Simon and Anne’s brother were colonial governors of Massachusetts. I am of the direct Dudley line from Anne and her brother John and their father etc. I just have not counted backwards. I believe there are Dudley’s alive and well in England today. The de Sutton’s/Suttons became Dudley’s when they took the name of the castle. Later it became Himley Hall and an Earl of Himley just died in California last year. His last name was Ward. The Suttons became Dudley’s, became Wards. I’m from the Sutton/Dudley line. Bradstreet was a married name of John Dudley’s brother, Anne.

Not sure of the exact number of generations offhand, but the Dudley Suttons are my direct ancestors also.
