I just wanted to introduce myself - Hello!

Question

Hello All,

My name is Meg. I've been dabling in Ancestry on and off for a few years now. I've mainly done work through Ancestry.com. But I've just hit a massive brick wall.

I recently stumbled onto WikiTree and I am looking forward to contributing where I can.

Here are some of my family surnames...please feel free to drop me a message if anything hits your eye:

Great Grandparents:Ferreria, Pontes, Ostrowski, Thurlow, Medeiros, Watkins (questionable)

Grandparents: Ferreira, Watkins, Ostrowski, Parsons (questionable)

I have a lot of question marks on my tree that I'd love to get sorted (ex: maternal grandmother's father...may not actually be).

That is about it for now...looking forward to working with you all.

Thank you for joining WikiTree and welcome to the community, Meagan. If you have questions about using WikiTree feel free to ask here in the G2G Forum or ask a WikiTree Mentor. I do not have anyone with the surnames you listed in my family/ancestors. Under the Family Tree and Genealogy tab on your profile, you will find a link to RootsSearch which has 20 or more website to use to search for sources, some are free others charge a fee to be a member.

Welcome, Meagan! Glad to have you on board. I believe that you will not regret joining our community. And what a community it is.

I’ve only been a WikiTreer since April and I’ve received tons of help here. This is a most generous group of cousins. No question of mine has gone unanswered, even if it didn’t resolve the issue. I’ve received help on brick walls and even the more technical stuff about working on WT.  Folks here will take time out from their own research to assist you in yours.

No question is a dumb question, so the rule of thumb is “Ask, ask, ask!” Be sure to use the help pages on this site. This will save you from making mistakes that you’ll only have to correct later.

I’m so glad you’ve joined us! I hope your experience with WT is as wonderful as mine.

Welcome Meagan, I hope you are able to find all of the connection you are looking for to continue building your family history. Like already mentioned, there are plenty of individuals available to assist if you have any questions or need assistance in learning more about WikiTree. Also, don't be afraid to join a project or a team and contribute to help develop WikiTree. Again, welcome and good luck with your research.
