How should I prove or disprove a direct relationship to Thomas Nathaniel Edwards

It is easily disproven--there is no evidence Thomas Nathaniel Edwards existed that genealogists have ever found and documented. Most of the children attributed to him belong to other parents. Perhaps he should be disconnected from parents and children and project protected so no more junk get added to this profile, its embarrassing that wikitree is mentioned in the above blog, when we strive for good genealogy.

I've slowly been doing exactly that. Currently working on merging profiles and as I find evidence that children have other parents I stick them with their real families or just disconnect them. I'm also on the trusted list for TNE so I'll make sure people don't tack on more random ancestors. I don't know how to protect a project but if someone wants to loop me in I'm on board.

Yo need to document all people between you and the person in question. I would start with you and work back as far as you can then work forward as necessary. Preferably all sources are primary and not a discredited genealogy.  Tons of those running around. They can give clues to real sources.

I have lots of information on this family... actually there is a connection to  nobility and I would want to know if I shared this. If I can be of help, let me know.   I have pictures and stories that should help bring this in line. The Edwards line is not mine, but I have close friends who share this line and I have researched for fun. Resources too
