I want to help contribute to the deep genealogy on our shared tree.
1.) Geographical region and time period: Fife, Scotland in general and more specifically, Torryburn Parish. I probably have well over 100 ancestors from this parish alone and many more from wider Fife.
2.) Some example names and dates: Beveridge, Hempseed, Hunter, Simpson, Sharp, Wardlaw/Wardlow from 1554 to 1700s. Wardlaw could go back to 1350s if I can bridge the Reformation Gap.
A specific problem has been discovered with a John Hempseed b.1769 , Torryburn, shown in different trees at MyHeritage with spouse Jean Edgar and Elizabeth Stewart. I believe the correct spouse to be Elizabeth and spouse for Jean is John Hempseed b.1764 Torryburn, but proof is only circumstantial for this John in that his birth date is the closest to that of Jean from several people born in same place/time.
3.) Source(s) for my information on them: Mostly a mix of LDS Familysearch and primary sources from Scottish GRO where available.
Would be useful to make contact with someone living close to Torryburn to follow up on local history. I was in Scotland in 2016 and should have visited Torryburn then. Not sure when I'm going to get back to Scotland, living in NZ currently.
Before I get started adding and changing profiles, can you tell me if there is a WikiTree project that would cover these people? If so, how do I get in touch with the project members to coordinate and collaborate on the profiles?
