What's up with [unlisted] editing profiles?

My recent Wiki Genealogy Feed included this edit from yesterday:

[unlisted] edited the Biography for (profile) [Thank [unlisted] for this]

Now, the feed did also have several messages to the effect of

Admin WikiTree edited the Email for [unlisted].(Automatic deletion of e-mail address after 30 days with no response.)

so perhaps one was the same person that made the edits, but those messages were from June 8, and the edits were made on June 9.

I'm disturbed that unlisted people are able to edit profiles; that leaves the PM no way to contact them if they did something egregious. If someone wants to have their WikiTree profile unlisted, that's fine, but they should then have to sacrifice their edit capabilities.

I've now realized that the [unlisted] still links to the profile, though I can't see it because it's unlisted. So there is a way for me to contact the person. However, I still think that if your profile is unlisted, you shouldn't be able to edit.

(Also, is there any point in having the email say [unlisted] when it's still a link to the Surname-###? In that case, why can't it say Surname-### (unlisted) rather than [unlisted]? The identifying information's still there.)

Persons who are active (editing) profile managers cannot be unlisted. I think this may have happened with the GDPR changes. Send the manager a private message. She/he may not even know they've become unlisted and she/he definitely needs to change their privacy level.

Yes, that is exactly what happened to me. I just realised that I was the unwitting profile manager of an unlisted profile! I thought, 'How can that be right?!'!

Hi Sharon, as for the unlisted I am not sure. As for this, Admin WikiTree edited the Email for [unlisted].(Automatic deletion of e-mail address after 30 days with no response.) I can assure you this is due to an invitation sent to a family member to join you on Wikitree, they have 30 days to respond after which wiki deletes their email and in so doing the request is no longer valid, also obviously the person in question is not a Wikitree member until they accept the invitation, therefore they are reffered to as unlisted.
