Help doing my first DNA confirmation- Is this right?

On FTDNA, I matched Lucille Long (now deceased). We are 1st cousins 4x's removed. Can I use this relationship to confirm my decent from Noah Long (Long-15618), as well as the chain of ancestors inbetween us? Do I add the confirmation info to each profile?

The family tree should be Simon Long and Sarah (Leonard) Long had Noah and Charles, among other kids. Charles's daughter is Lucille. Noah is my 3x's great grandfather. Probably it's easier to look at the wikitree relationships than to read it written out. Since I don't know if the shared DNA is Simon's or Sarah's, I assume Noah should be the highest I confirm. Should I also confirm Lucille's descent from Charles?

I just want to make very sure I'm doing this right for my first DNA confirmation on here

*(type of relationship for each person) is confirmed by a 45 centimorgans Family Finder FTDNA match between [[Schaub-534|Allison Schaub]] and her 1st cousin 4x's removed [[Long-15864|Lucille Long]].

Allison, I don't believe that you can use this relationship at this time. AtDNA matches between two testers can be confirmed if the relationship is third cousin or closer.  If the match is beyond third cousin then triangulation would need to be used.

You might want to take a look at this help page for more information

Ok. I wasnt sure with the amount of removed, but
"2.a.) Yes

If it's autosomal DNA test match between two people who are third cousins or closer skip to the next question.

Note that a third cousin once removed is beyond a third cousin, but a second cousin twice removed is not. See this cousin chart"

So i thought 1st cousin 4 times removed might be ok.
If my dad did DNA testing and we could get a 1st cousin 3x's removed would that be close enough?
I don't really know for certain, that is why I said I don't believe the match is close enough. I am just giving my opinion here.  You might want to contact someone from the DNA project in order to get a more definitive answer.

If I were you I would edit the question to also add the DNA tag.  You should get more responses that way. Wish I could be more helpful.
Thanks. I'll do that
