Trying to complete connection to Charlemagne

So here's my dilemma, from what I know I am related to Charlemagne, and I'm close to a connection, except I'm 5 generations short of linking myself to Charlemagne. Otto van Arkel Heukelom seems to be my connection to Charlemagne (closest ancestor from Charlemagne's tree I could get to). However I can only find records going to Henric Wit (Witten).

I am unfortunately not well versed in finding medieval documents and even if I could find them I wouldn't be able to link myself to Charlemagne seeing as I'm not Pre-1500's certified.

I'll put down my missing links below along with a link to the site of a distant relative. Links to both Otto van Arkel Heukelom and Henric Wit.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

You are therefore descended from Herbaren II van der Lede, therefore you may try tracing your descent from him, he'd be one of your Greater-Grandfathers, however, the line seems to become obscure and ends at Herbaren van der Lede. Both of my parents descend from Charlemagne, on my Mother's he'd be my 38th Great Grandfather, according to records. So if time and spouses prove true, we'd be very distant cousins. Hope this helps.

My way to discovering my connection with Karl was something which I knew existed, due to my surname. However, I discovered it first, simply by tracking the lineage of my Mother's maternal noble lineage. I'd advise checking all known spouses and their lineage as well, of which you descend from, of course. I discovered my descent maternally through the daughter of Hugh Capet, who my Great-grandfather Brown, is descended from.

It is a family tree but I I know that, I just am looking for originial sources and not 2nd or 3rd if not 4th hand information, but thank you
I dont think, that I deserve tot be patronised by you, I wrote you it is a lead.
And it use Wikipedia as a lead, so no second, third or fourth hand info.
Iam a certified sourcerer and have helped a lot of members, tot find ancestors pre 1500. Iam a active member of Dutch Roots, and know very well what Iam doing.
I am sorrt if I came across as patrionising. I am not doubting your work or saying that you are not a competent geneaologist, all I meant is that I was trying to find the original records. If there is one thing I don't want to cayse is a divide between geneaologists.
It's allright Sytze, now that's why I said, that you can use it as a lead and not a source. Sometimes you find a clou to a source in a lead.
Iam related to Herbaren aswel, by paternal and maternal side.
