Fascinating article

This really is a thought-provoking article.  I begin to wonder how many other cases of hidden racial identity must exist in our family tree.  It seems now that genetic genealogy is here, we're beginning to clear up mysteries that otherwise might remain mysteries for generations.

I had synchronistically just seen an article about a man, Allan Kain, aka Alton "Dub" Barron, or "Johnny Appleseed" in which this man has fathered children with at least eight wives and more girlfriends across the USA and possibly around the world:

Dad who fathered kids around the country has offspring tracking 'Johnny Appleseed'

I agree entirely. I am just about to do a DNA test to see if we can ascertain the ethnology of my g g grandfather who appears to have been African (as seen in photos of his daughter). If he does turn out to be African, or Polynesian (as also has been suggested), then you cannot see it in me or my cousins, though some of their children have hints of something different. So, who knows what else is hiding in our DNA even just a few generations back?
We truly are fortunate to be alive at this exciting time for genetic genealogy discoveries!  How exciting to soon be doing a DNA test to investigate your family!
indeed we are, Cynthia.
