Can we tag if not a formal member of a project?

Just wondering, are we allowed to follow certain projects using tags even if we aren’t formal members of that project? Ex: can I put a tag on my profile for Euroaristo even though I am not (and not qualified to be) pre-1500s certified? I have an interest in that area.

Thanks! (I don’t have a dog in this fight, so it won’t hurt my feelings! :-)  )

Sure you can, but just remember you're only allowed to have 20 tags total!!!

Thanks, Robyn’s. I just pared down my tags, got rid of ones that didn’t seem to be hitting on all cylinders, so I’m well within the limit.

Much appreciated!!
You're welcome. If you end up joining LOTS of projects like I have, you have to pick and choose your project tags and your surname tags VERY carefully!!!  LOL
Oh, and pardon me for misspelling your name, Robynne. I was typing from my iPad, and it has a minde of itss onn wen itt coms to splling tings fore mi.
No problems about the spelling.

It is unusual and most americans are not familiar with this spelling.

I would have such fat fingers if I ever tried to type on a iphone or a galaxy!!

My spelling would be atrocious!!
