Third and subsequent forenames

Just want to confirm or otherwise, before saying anything,  that there is no problem with putting two or more names in the middle name box.
Also that a first name is not necessarily a preferred name.
i.e.This would be OK.
First name Albert
Middle names Frederick Arthur George
Preferred name George
Nickname Bertie

I've come across  third names being 'corrected' to the nickname box and also preferred names being changed to agree with the first forename.

Go for it. E.g. there are no middle names among the French, and I have at least one ancestor with 5 given names, though I'm pretty sure I haven't seen six yet. They all go in the PFN field and if a preferred name out of them is known it goes in the PN field and the middle name field is checked as a negatory. The limitation is in the construction of the add profile and edit pages, so all we can do is work around that with common sense.
That's probably how French names work, but actually, Helen, if you are dealing with UK names, they work exactly the way you said.

Someone should try to create a profile for this lady with a 161-words name...

Or the Dutch Jacqueline Gabrielle Caroline Jenny Antoinette Françoise Wilhelmine Adrienne Fortunée Théodore Stéphanie Henriette barones van Brakell van Wadenoijen en Doorwerth.

Ha ha ha - she'd be Unlisted, anyway, as she's living and not a WT member.  So who would know if anyone got it wrong?
Looks like someone got their foot stuck on the gas pedal and stopped only when they ran out of gas...

Well, the baronesse certainly is not living:

Of course Albert Frederick Arthur George already has a profile.(though theres no room left for his nickname.)

Thanks everyone. As I mentioned I just wanted confirmation before mentioning it

Works for me, Helen. Have a lot of "Johann" first names on the German side of my family. Put additional names into the second name field and then signal which one is preferred.
