Wow, what a gorgeous duo of portraits from two different points in Virginia's life!  She looks like she must be just setting out in the world in the photo on the right, perhaps in her 20's or early 30's--in the 1880's!  Wow, what a treasure to have that picture of her, especially since it does such a good job of showing her phenomenal focus--and hinting that she has quite a zest for life from the way she wears her hat, the expression in her eyes and lips and tilt of her head.  

And the photo on the left still looks like the same fiery woman, many decades later.  I love the smile on her face, and the way she wears her hat, still at a lovely jaunty angle.

Love, love, love this picture of Granny Bell.  From a young classy lady she grew into an a lady of refinement, never forgetting that that hat, which became her trademark.

Almost like she was looking into the mirror at her past at what she once was.
