US WW II sources for records

There is, of course, few documents left after the fire but, aside from unit histories, is there any repository left for service documents related US veterans of WW II? I found one single document related to my father (USN Air Corps) and only one for my father-in-law. Fortunately, my brother has a diary that my father kept, really just where he was at such-and-such a time. Ditto for my father-in-law (USN) but a better diary, names, places, conditions.

Funny thing, these two gentlemen never met that we know of, but they were on Samar Island, the Philippines at the same time. Small world.

Many units had Division or Regimental yearbooks - similar to the yearbooks in US high schools.  If you know your ancestor's division or regiment, you might be able to find a scanned copy online or else buy a copy on eBay.

Excellent lead! I’ll check it out. Thanks, SJ.
I have my uncle's [[Newcomer-563 | Henry Newcomer] 451st Bomb Squadron yearbook with TONS of pictures (including his wife!), all awards for squadron members, etc.  No member is left out.  Uncle Henry also attended just about every squadron reunion and has some CDs of those events.  Every job from cooks to communications; POW escape stories; belly landings, air battle photos; maps, USO.  You name it, it's in the book.  I'm willing to provide anyone with anything I can.
