In search of father of my great grandfather -  PARKER line.  I'm using  and this is the hardest and last to make me settled.

Last record of his name from census 1900

Stephen Augustus Parker
Birth 20 Oct 1836
Death 27 Nov 1903 (aged 67)
Parker Family Cemetery
Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, USA
Memorial ID 28606412 ·

When he was a child in the 1850 US Census,  his father's name is only:

W.  Parker

but, Stephen is listed as a son.

The problem is figuring out the complete name of W. Parker.  I've come up with the following that "LOOKS GOOD"  but, because of several wives, I need more ideas.

ANOTHER goal, and crazy, is to see if my PARKER side is connected with Cynthia Ann Parker, from the historical kidnapping by the Comanches in Ft. Parker, Texas in 1836.   She had a son, Quanah Parker, and the incident is very famous here in Texas and the USA.

This is the lineage I believe but not at all 100%!

Willis Orlando Parker grandfather 1876-1952

Stephen Augustus Parker 1836- 1903  m. Margaret Durbin Margaret A. Durbin Parker
Birth 23 Jun 1836
Death 28 Dec 1885 (aged 49
Parker Family Cemetery
Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, USA
Memorial ID 28606392 ·

THEN COMES THE MYSTERY of the father. I could only find a census record of  W. Parker  1850  then stabbed a guess that the W. was :

William "Will" W. Jackson Parker

Birth 1800 • Marlboro County, South Carolina, USA

Death JUL 1859 • Hunt Co, Texas, USA

Delila (Delilah, Delsey) Parker Jackson ?

Birth 9 MAR 1808 • Hickman, Kentucky

Death 28 NOV 1889 • Greenville, Hunt, Texas, USA

William's father:

Moses Parker

Birth ABT 1770 • Montgomery, North Carolina, United States

Death 9 AUG 1852 • Spencer Mill, Dickson, Tennessee, United States

If accurate,  I believe MOSES is the brother of JOHN PARKER, of the FT. PARKER historical fame, and uncle to Cynthia Ann Parker.

Thanks for any and all information, correction and ideas to double check for errors and other people who might share DNA.   My DNA does match the William Parker family members  but so far there are any PARKER connections or "circles" in my matches in

You will need to add your parents and build from that information.  Good luck!

Thanks, Wayne.   In my I've started from scratch but got stumped of the "W. Parker"  Not many records are on his son Stephen A. Parker.  I just went to LA to see his hidden gravestone. Thanks , going to start again to see where I went wrong.
I have DNA matches with some Parkers, with one of them who has in his files an Elizabeth Parker (my GG grandma?) who married a Graham (yah!).  Born abt 1824 (according to 1850 census Scott co., MS.  I'm told her father was Isaac M. and mom Mary Noland.  I'm not 100% sure as people do make mistakes, lol.

I've been told at some time that Isaac was a brother to Col. Parker who took Cynthia Parker (Quanah's mom) back to her people where she died of a broken heart.  Her little daughter died also.  This is speculation on my part because I cant even remember who told me that since it was before I became so interested in genealogy.  If you or anyone else has info on Isaac Parker and Mary Noland or Elizabeth Parker and Irvin Graham, I'd love some help.

Thanks so much,

Marian Sharp
