Just decided I needed to have software for my tree for when the internet is not working - or I am adding unsourced people until I have sources to load here so I picked GRAMPS and it looks easy enough (ha) and now I can not see how to load the dang GEDCOM i got from my tree here

Please see https://gramps-project.org/gramps-manual/2.2/en/ch03s04.html for importing a data file into GRAMPS.

Thanks George but so far I have not found the file menu - I looked and looked last night and I may have been in the wrong mode or view I think - here I will give it another go

ok I had not put the add ons in yet maybe that is why - downloading now, fingers crossed
Wow started reading manual and wow not sure why I am wanting to learn a whole new thing - looks so complicated now - what was I thinking!!!

It looks like a lovely program - hope I find the time to get familiar with it and get my people on there - have a big dang tree and it sure would help me keep track of my peeps
The manual should tell you where all the features are. I have not used this program, so my ability to help comes to an end pretty quick. However, if the manual is any good, it should answer most questions.

Perhaps there is a "quick start" guide in the front of the manual to help.
