This Census record for my Great Uncle, Can anyone help me make out the birth place of Son Herbert? I can not quite make out the hand writing on this one.

I wanted to share this family photo of George Doust with the community. Location: Hampstead London. Date: 1911.

Hi Shaun

Henry's birthplace is stated on the census as "Hants, Farnbrough", which I believe is Farnborough, Hampshire.

Good luck with the research!

Shaun, do you ever sleep?!?  :-)   What a great doc. Would that our docs here in the USA were such clear and informative forms.  A real find!!

Thank you pip for your comment, HaHaaaHa, yes I do sleep but not much unfortunately...my mind just doesn't switch off, even counting sheep does't help!
Thanks because you’re not really counting sheep when you’re counting profiles you need to take care of.
hahahaaa yes Pip so right, that is one of the things that keeps me awake! you hit the nail on the head.
Any way to decipher the meaning of the numbers written with colored ink on  the doc you shared?
You know what Pip, I honestly don't know. I can only guess that it is the coding they use to reference a certain entry? Not sure

Wow. Very cool you could find an actual census document. I would love to find something like that from Scotland. Original documents are gold!

Thank you Janice, yes I manage to find a lot of census documents in England. They are rather well documented and freely available. I don't know much about Scottish records, but from your comment I derive they are hard to find. Likewise here in South Africa Census Documents are almost impossible to find.
My first problem is being able to know where to look. I don't know the parentage of my sutherland immigrant, so I can't get across the water
Why don't you post some info here on Wiki, names dates, places etc.

I'm sure the more experienced researches will come up with something to give you a kick start! When I first started to hit a dead end with my ancestors I posted on G2G for help, I was stick in 1890 with my Great Grand father, and wow did I get help? before I knew it the brick wall was down and I managed all by myself to find all ancestors and most of their family back to 9th Great Grand parents. It does not hurt to ask for help.
