Can one nest categories and subcategories in WikiTree syntax?  Is the following valid?

[[[[Category: Rhodesia]] Category: Rhodesian Bush War]]

No it isn't. There is no reason to. Categories are nested one in another. you usually need to add only the lowest level categories to the profile.

Hi, Aleš. Follow-on question: The category syntax can be confusing and the subcategories don't always appear the drop-down Categories box. How do I properly tag a subcategory? For example:

Top Level Category: Great Migration Ships

Southampton is listed as a subcategory (a ship) and Ships Sailing in the 1620s. Neither are in the pull-down Categories list.

Do I use a comma, an underscore? So,

[[Great Migration Ships, Southampton]]

[[Great Migration Ships_Southampton]]

Or some other syntax. I wish the Help pages would give examples of how to type in the Category when the subcategory is not in the pull-down list.

Thanks.

I am not really sure of the purpose of https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Southampton

Maybe it will group all ships landing in the port.

I guess it is not a ship name, since it should have a build year.

As for the syntax. both are missing Category:

[[Category:Great Migration Ships Southampton]]

underscore is the same as a space and it doesn't mather.

Thanks, and yes, I was missing the Category: syntax. Good to know underscore is equal to a space.

If I was tired, I can only imagine how you were toward the end of the weekend. Thanks for all you do.
