I'm not sure which category i should be asking this in: I have the source i want to link, but it seems that i can't get a URL that goes directly to it. It seems to be a link for the top level:
http://bibnum2.bnquebec.ca/bna/lovell/index.html
and then anyone who follows the link still has to choose the right year (1870-1871) and then navigate to page 444.
Is there a more direct way to link? Or a different site that also has Lovell's directories that are easier to link to the right page?
Does anyone know what would be the timeline for Lovell's between collecting their info and publishing? As far as that goes, where did they get their info?
I'm looking into this directory clue more deeply because i've never been able to find this Thomas Sword in any 1870 or 1871 census. He was married in Montreal on Dec 31 1869, and here he is (i think) in Lovell's, so where was he on census day? To complicate matters, he was a deserter from the British Army and by 1878 if not earlier was using his middle name, Robertson, as his family name. So he might not have wanted to be visible.
