G2G: My great grandmother Informatoin onMary Smith who married James Martin Snow on 12/10/1883 in Iredell Co, NC.

Question

Iredell County, NC's online records show that Mary Smith married James Martin Snow on 12/10/1883.  There is no hard copy with parent names on file.  I went to the Register of Deeds all they have is what is listed above.  I know that they had 3 children: Nancy Pearl Snow Morgan, year?, Lillie Snow Lippard, year?, and My grandfather, JB Snow in 1891.  Then I am assuming Mary Smith Snow died, because my great grandfather then married Nancy Elizabeth Smith in 1895 in Alexander Co. They had one son that I know of, Cephas Lee Snow.

How do I go about getting more information.

Correction to your above data:  In April 1895 James Martin Snow, son of James  and Nancy E Smith Snow  married M L Ingles, dau of Simpson and Duck Ingles.   Nancy Smith was his mother.  So the first wife Mary must have died, and M L, I believe from the census data, must also be 'Mary' as seen on the 1920 census.  On JB's marriage cert in 1915, his mother Mary is listed as deceased.

Some of this data conflicts with the above - hmm... ?2 James Martin Snow/Mary Smiths? There is a James Martin Snow, husband of Mary Smith, son of James Snow and Nancey E Smith, died 1933. However, this would sort of disprove that 2nd marriage as it appears that Mary was still alive in the 1920 Census Was JB's 1st wife Barbara Elulalia Parker Snow? Because JB and Barbara are living with James and Mary in 1920. Then by 1930 James M widower, is living with JB and new wife 'Willie - same JB because children have same names as 1920 census.

There is also a lot of data on a Pearl Snow and Will J or J William Morgan, but it appears she may possibly be 'Martha Pearl' and not Nancy Pearl.
