When looking through my research on the family of John W. SIMS (
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sims-3033), I came upon an Elijah SIMS born: about 1805 and died in 1883 in Lewis County, West Virginia. However the death record for this Elijah indicated he was the son of a William and Susan SIMS. I proceeded to research and found a will of a William SIMS with a son named Elijah in the will. So I know he is not the individual that I am looking for. I made up a profile for him anyway so my work might help others researching this family, but I am at a loss how to find enough on William SIMS the father to connect this family to the wikitree. At the present time I have found, will of father naming him as his executor, Elijah's marriage record in 1849 to Eliza ROBINSON in Harrison County, Virginia, the 1850 and 1860 census record of Elijah which seems to point to a possible previous marriage than the 1849 record, and Elijah's death record. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. I think this family and my John W. SIMS family might be related in some way, but I am just not finding the records to back that theory up. Can anyone help?
