Judith, can you give us a little more info? Full name, a profile of the Beckwith you’re searching for? A little more specific dates along with places. That’ll narrow it down for us. Thanks!

Here's what I think I know. Kate (Catherine) Beckwith married Charles Walters, a circus performer. He died. She then married Fred Bailey in 1864. My grandfather, Charles Frederick Bailey was born in 1869 in Cincinnati. Kate died in 1880----or maybe not. She may have just run away to Florence, KY due to scandal taking my grandfather with her, or maybe not. My grandfather told my mother (named Kathleen)his mother's maiden name was Kathleen O'Dea., not Beckwith. My sister's name was Dea. I know for a fact that my grandfather joined the Army in 1890, but I'm trying to learn something of his early life. He's not mentioned in any census. I'm led to believe that he was probably in a circus. He was a trick rider in the US Cavalry. He claimed his mother and sister---Frankie Bailey, of circus fame were abusive and he ran away when he was 13. I hired a genealogist in Cincinnati, but no help there. I am hoping that someone named Beckwith may know something that will help me solve this mystery. Thanks
If you haven't looked for this man on familysearch.org, try it and you will find some information, but nothing about a Beckwith (my family) connection that I can find. Good luck!
