Did René de la Voye really have "Calvinist tendencies?"

New France pioneer René de la Voye's profile currently states the following:

He had Calvinist tendencies and abjured such before Bishop Laval 4 March 1657 after witnessing the miracles of his in-laws Hélie Godin and Ester Ramage. He was actually baptized Catholic at birth at St-Maclou in Rouen.

The part about him being born Catholic is correct, as his baptism has been located in the departmental archives.  However, I'm skeptical about his supposed Calvinist tendencies and abjuration.  For one thing, the purported miracles involving the Godins occurred in the early 1660s, after the stated date of abjuration.  Are there any primary, contemporaneous sources to corroborate this claim?

As an FYI with regard to this family, Fichier Origine recently released an important update to his profile.  This update includes the names and dates of baptisms for two older brothers, the date of marriage for his parents, and the identities of his grandparents.  The link is here-I'll plan to update the relevant profiles shortly.

Well, updated the Fichier data, on looking over the various sources etc, one of them is somebody's family tree, which appears very well researched although few sources are actually cited.  This is the part that is relevant to your question:

A year after Rene's marriage to Anne, Fr. Jean de Quen wrote in the Jesuit Relations that he had conducted an abjuration of heresy in his chamber in the presence of Jean Jobin, Pierre du Val and Fr. Chastlaine, according to the formula of the Council of Trent with a boy called Rene Voie.

So if you have access to Jesuit relations you can verify it, but that appears to have been what it was about.  A flirt with the religion due to his wife being originally of that faith.

Thanks for editing his profile-things are much clearer now.  It could well be the case that the alleged miracles took place later and that they had nothing to do with his abjuration.
lol, it had to be, somebody dubbed in that it was related, no evidence for it.
