Due to burnt records in Miles City Montana and along the powder river we are unable to trace Mark Rice (abt 1840 - 1900).  He married Sarah Crossman.  Their son William Crosman Rice said that Mark and Sarah were possibly from Kentucky.  They established a ranch on the Powder River.  Both were dead by 1900.  William (born 1887 or 1889) said they were both dead from yellow fever.  He went to Henrietta Crosman who was his guardian.  She was an actress.  There were no records of Sarah Crosman who was supposed to be a sister.  Their son, William C Rice, stated that they crossed to Montana in a covered wagon.  We are getting discouraged.  Thanks for any help.
