I am looking for the parents of Jean Talbot I (C.1610) and Catherine Ragouget (c.1610).

Question

They both lived in Maulan and were members of St Georges Catholic Church. Their child ren were baptized and confirmed at St Georges Church.

There children were Jean Talbot II (b. circa 1635), Georges (b. 1646), Nicolas (b. 1648) and Nicolas (b.1649). I am at a dead stop and can go no further back on my family tree. We know we are descendants of Hugh Talleboth, but lose our Talbot tree from him to Jean Talbot I (c.1610 Maulan). Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!!

Hugh Talleboth is the first Talbot that show up in any records.

I would not be so affirmative. He may be the earliest Talbot we know of, but there may very well be generations and generations of unrelated Talbots in various parts of France (actually, even somewhere else) that went totally unrecorded. The vast majority of people who lived before the 17th century have left absolutely no records for us to trace them. I'm not saying the Talbots from Maulan are not descendants of the Hugh Talbot... but it may well be impossible to prove.
