My 3rd Great Grandfather was a William Summers, born in Poole, Dorset UK 1781. He was recorded as a "Mariner" & seemingly employed by the British Admiralty. In December 1803 William married Martha Brouster or Browster in Quebec City. Martha was from Sorel in Canada although her parents were loyalist Irish who settled in Pennsylvania originally.
My next record for William and Martha is when a daughter was born in 1815, in Poole, Dorset UK. Two subsequent children are recorded, in order is Martha Summers (1815), Robert Ash Summers (1818) and Mary Brouster Summers (1820). Martha (the mother) died in 1822 and in November 1824 William (father) was lost at sea. Guardianship for the children went to a widowed Grandmother, Mary Hooper nee Lambert. The document listed an additional child, four total. Family documents list a William Summer who in 1824 "was twenty years old and already at sea". This puts a birth date 1804/ 5.
I am wanting to fill in the blank space of 1803 to 1815 and any information on William Jnr and his life.
Anecdotal family history says that we have family connections with Eastern Canada where family members were fisherman. I assume Grandbanks
