I created a cemetery category

Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Jefferson County, Mississippi

Here's the page for the category https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Category:Pleasant_Hill_Cemetery%2C_Jefferson_County%2C_Mississippi&action=edit

Below is the profile I put it on.

Should I just keep adding this category to friends and relatives in that cemetery?  Or should I wait until the category is approved?

This is my first category.  And I'd like to do another one for an almost 1,000 person cemetery in Isle of Wight County, Virginia.

Thanks to everyone for all you do!

There is no "approval" process.  If you go to the bottom of the page and click "save page", you will have created a new category and the link will turn green on the page you linked to it.  You should add some explanatory text to the category, but you can do that either before or after you create it.  A good idea is to find a cemetery category page that you already think did a good job and model your text on it.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Jefferson_County%2C_Mississippi%2C_Cemeteries is where it needs to be made first. I just did that so if you refresh it shouldn't be red any longer?

Also, Cemetery name, city name, and state name seems to be the norm and then it is put in the correct county.

This cemetery has no city!  You go to the boondocks and turn at the blue metal building/gas station.  :)

And thank you!!!
Well, Pleasant Hill Cemetery is listed in Pleasant Hill so no big deal. but the one in Isle of Wight County, Virginia should be Name, Town, State when you create it then I can just drop it into Isle of Wight in Virginia and it links up.

put this link in the edit box.

[[Category:Isle of Wight County, Virginia, Cemeteries]]

I love your directions Kathryn. You should put something similar on the category page. And I’ve been to photograph cemeteries like that smiley

I did a category for Antioch Christian Church Cemetery in Windsor, Isle of Wight County, Virginia.

Looks good Kathryn! Is it a small cemetery?
Actually, I had to delete the category for the Antioch cemetery and rename it. See, if a cemetery is in a city or town, you do not need to add the county in the category name.

Please see this free-space page for help when you need it:

And we're always here to answer questions! :-)

[[Category:Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, Windsor, Virginia]] is the one Natalie made. Name, Town, State. Then in the edit box of that link you put the category you want ABOVE it. That would be the County/State category that probably already exists.

I'm still trying to figure this out myself. I'm glad I didn't give you wrong advise. laugh

Thank you, Steven.
