G2G: Opinions on if this is my 2nd GG Gandfather

Hello, I believe I have finally found the parentage for my 2nd Great-Grandfather, but wanted a 2nd opinion before I posted it to my tree. I for whatever reason, have had a difficult time with reconds for this part of Maine, a lot of mistake or dates that don't add up.

Anyway, I found a census from 1870 that is for a Miller F Higgins, he would be the same age for the time as my GG grandfather, in the correct location of maine, and if you look at other words in this census with W's in them, that is how the writer of this, made his W's they looks like M's ..  attached in screenshot

Thanks for you time and replies

-Lynn

comparing the first letter of what is indexed as Miller, with other Ms and Ws, I must conclude it is a W and not an M.

Can you find him in the 1880 census as Miller or William? That might confirm it one way or another.

I looked as you said, and it is recorded as Willie, his middle initial in now a T though.. So it went from Miller F Higgins to Willie T Higgins.  The T looks like an F without the strike, but on info page for his father it is William F Higgins

Looking at the image of the 1870 census record on familysearch, comparing W's and M's, the diacritic dots (2 each) and their offset placement over both Higgins and his first name, and (more importantly) lower-case r's, it appears to me that the entry was intended to be "Higgins Willie F" I.e., the second diacritic dot over his first name would indicate that an i (eye) was intended.
Further, other lower-case r's in that record (e.g. two instances of "laborer") are different than the last letter in the first name.
