I would like to join Irish roots, I am a long time “genealogist” on my own (abt 40 yrs) and have Irish roots with a tad Scottish on both maternal and paternal sides and have been stuck. I have a John Daly b. Abt. 1843 in Ireland married to an Ellen Keating, also born in Ireland, I think both died in Philadelphia, PA. Also stuck at a John Mooney b abt 1810 in Ireland who married a Cassidy in Philadelphia, PA. Cassidy was from Scotland, both second marriages.
Rebecca Stewart b. Abt 1822 in Ireland married to a John Hempton b. Abt. 1815 possibly in Ireland, they married in Tyrone County in 1839, had 2 or 3 sons then emigrated to Philadelphia, Pa. Rebecca died 18 March 1892. I really want to pursue the Stewart and Hempton line and we had been told the Stewart line was royal someplace and my sister took the National Geographic DNA test which seems to show this as well.
James Campbell b. Abt . 1779, not sure if this was Ireland or Scotland, married to ? Son James Campbell b. Abt. 1815 Cappagh, Tyrone Co, Ireland married to Isabella Scott b. Abt. 1830, Ireland, married 13 Nov 1849 Donagheady, Strabane, Ireland. The Campbell and Scott families seem to marry into each other a lot in my line.
George McCord B. 16 Aug 1829 Aghalee, Co. Atrim married Margaret Fletcher b. Abt 1831 in Ireland, married 5 January 1855 in Aghalee, Co. Atrim, Ireland. George’s father was also a George but I know no more. Many McCords yet I have yet to find one I am related to.
All of the surnames above as well as Keating and probably a few not mentioned I certainly would like to find others with ancestors who are related. I would love to knock down walls before I am gone!
