Missing second great aunt

Question

I need help to find my second greataunt Mary Ann Wilson who married William Carlisle on the 27th of December 1845 at GeystokesCumberland England. I haven't been able to find them anywhere in England. Maybe they went on a very long honeymoon, as members of her family were shipowners that plyed their trade all around the world. They just saw a place they liked and disembarked in the way you were free to do till 1906 when the rules were changed. As I can't seem to find them as part of an emigration scheme to somewhere else in the colonies either. Its all a bit of a mystery really.

Since they had ships in the family they could have ended up anywhere without documentation of the journey. I have the same problem with some of mine. However, since they married in Cumberland it might also be worth looking for them north of the border in Scotland.

In 1851 there is a William Carlisle born 1825 living in Wigton, Cumberland. Wife Mary and brother-in-law John Wilson. Might be worth a closer look.

Thank you everyone for your research I notice sometimes people are so close under your nose you never see them especially when you are trying to match people up with DNA that come from another country far away. Must be a cousin thing so many marriages and relataionshipsin common they show up closer related than they really are. Thanks again great sleuthing
