I wanted to share this family photo of Africa McGregory with the community. Location: London, England. Date: unknown.

Great find! Some said that all records on Africa Pike were lost in the Great Fire. Now can we determine her Mother's LNAB. Many argue Blount. That a potential sister of Emma, were she a Blount, also married a Pike is compelling (not infrequent event), but I have as yet been unable to establish a relationship among the Pike husbands.

Catharina Blount, also of London-Middlesex, shows Edmond Blount (1627-1694) and Judith Rhodes (1625-1650) as parents. Catharina married a Gabriel Pike of Ireland (b. 1650), Emma/Emily Blount's husband John Pike (1648-1681), according to some sources was the son of Richard Pike of Newbury-Berkshire (1627-1668) and Elizabeth Jackson (1636-1688). This was the same Richard Pike who died in prison because of having adopted Quaker beliefs mere years beforehand.

Great Posting, I think you should get a Project Protect on Pike-185. It's a great profile.

I can read "Africa the daughter of John and Emma Pike" but am unclear about whether "John and Emma Pike"  refers to her parents or refers to Emma's LNAB.  Would assume it's the married couple based on Africa's last name. So what clues are there about Emma's family in the record?

Perhaps you've already figured this out.
