How did this merge happen? [closed]

I had just entered an Isabel Watson in my tree when I got busy with other matters. Coming back to WikiTree and trying to sort out where I had got to I found that she has been merged with an Isobel Watson (Watson 6532) with the same date of death in a file with no file manager. The difficulty I have is that this Isobel has different parents & grandparents etc. from  my Isabel. I'm fairly new to WikiTree so I'm not sure what I do about this. I'm not even sure I've got this question in the right place !!

Regards

Jenny

When did you add your Isabel Watson? I cannot see her on your contributions list. I also cannot see a merge in the change list of the profile you say she was merged into.

Well I really don't know if it was a merge, like I said I'm new at this. but somehow she and her ancestors have become attached to my tree and I don't want her.
Then the problem is not due to a merge. What you need to do is find where the wrong connection is and then go to Edit. On the right hand side you will see Relationships and you can disconnect the wrong relationship.
I think I've figured it out, it wasn't Isobel Watson that the merge was with but when I entered her husband William Pirrie ( Pirrie-16) there was a merge for him and I inherited her with the merge but from my research she and her ancestors are all wrong. There is no file manager to querie about it so I would still like to change her and her ancestors.
All sorted, thank you all for the help especially Lynda.
You are welcome Jenny. We may even turn out to be related as I have some Piries up in that part of the world too, but have not added them to Wikitree yet.
Shaun, Thanks for the best answer star.

there's been no merge.

Ah, right... Lynda's comment made me think... this is likely a terminology problem.

The word "merge" to us, means combining more than one duplicate profile into a single profile.

While perhaps you are using the word "merge" to mean combining different but similarly named families together -- we call these "connections"
This terminology question comes up regularly with new members Dennis. We get a lot of folks asking how to unmerge when they really want to disconnect a relationship.

Hi Jenny ... looking at your list of contributions (https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&who=Rose-11688) I don't see any entry for an Isabel Watson ... there's a James Watson but that's all I saw ...
