Just do you know - if you ever see the connections box at the bottom of the profiles go missing again, chances are high that the connections finder has broken down again - just like it did yesterday. It is however now back up and running so we are all fine.

Thanks for the best answer George.

That brings me ever closer to my hitting 300K G2G points!!

Yes the connection finder is playing up again. I was panicking about this 2 hours ago until I realised what was happening.

Current time - 0300 Eastern daylight time (NYC USA)

Today is Tuesday and we usually do get a change over for the "profile of the week" on Tuesdays so this may have something to do with the temporary breakdown.

Oh and the last time this broke down - about 2 weeks ago I think - it was down for around 18 hours!!

See the below link in the G2G for the last break down on 11 June! LOL

https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/625998/why-have-we-all-lost-our-connections-to-the-global-tree

PS you might want to add the bugs tag = the little green tags.

So the last break down (11 June) was also on a Tuesday as well. I wonder of this weeks Profile of the Week is a non english person and the system cannot handle the foreign script - as in they are from a language that does not use the Latin alphabet. That is what happened last time.

I've added the bugs tag and a couple more as I'm getting e-mails from other WikiTreers about this.
Thanks Maria!!!
Thanks Maria from me too. Was looking at one particular profile, realized it wasn't connected and thought a naughty word because I remembered how hard it had been to connect it originally. Thought somebody less than helpful might have been at work, then became more rational, checked my own profile and found it down too. Realized it was the system itself having hiccups.

We need a bit more information. Are they profiles of living people? At the end of May, profiles of living people were made unlisted per new privacy laws in Europe If you haven't been on for a while, that could be it. If you have been on much more recently, I don't know the answer. You just say "earlier" but that is a relative term.

They are relatives that are long dead. My grandfather for one I am his profile manager and the others are there for anyone to look at

I think the connection finder - the one at the bottom of profiles - has taken a vacation again. This happens fairly often, when there is a changeover of the anchor profiles.

The connection finder is gone from my own profile as well, at the moment.

On the other hand, I can go to one of the profiles in your tree, managed by you, and click on those little green arrows by the profile manager name, and get the relationship finder to show their blood relationship to you.

Its on the Menu -- go to the WikiTree-ID menu for the profile in question, and choose "Relationship to me"
