How do I add information from Gedcom to existing people?

So, I have a gedcom and I want to add people from it to existing people.   I went ahead and created a person, Mary Ann Salsgiver, and now I want to merge the information from my gedcom into her empty profile.   But I can't seem to figure out how to do that.

When I choose search on the Gedcom, it brings her up and lets me Match her, but it doesn't import the gedcom data.   When I go to create from the Gedcom it finds her, and still doesn't let me add the information.

What am I doing wrong?

well yes, I didn't see the edit button appear the first time I tried.  But I didn't like the way it came over, it was different a bit from a merge.  Will play around some more with it.
