I am trying to source a profile and found a death record but the names are
different.  Are Chaim and Hymen interchangeable as a first name from someone in Russia?

According to the Given Name Database on JewishGen (https://www.jewishgen.org/databases/GivenNames/search.htm), Hayman and Hymen are among the forms that the Hebrew name Chaim (Chayim) "life" could take in the U.S. They appear to be based on Yiddish forms of the name.

Thank you J.  I thought some one would know, given the diversity of our readers.  That lets me know that the census using those names is for the profile of the brother I was researching, also.
