Hi Richard!

I would love to join. My aunt and I are trying to trace our McClarin roots beyond those on american soil. We suspect origins in Tyrone, and Perthshire before that. We are also looking for Smiths in nearby areas.

My 7th great grandfather, Alexander Alexander, was born in Girlaw, County Tyrone.  He was descended from the Scottish Alexanders of Kintyre.

My McClarence/McLaren ancestors came from the Cookstown area of County Tyrone: Bardahessiagh and Dunnamore.

Hi Peggy, I added you to the Tyrone page. Maria will be giving you the Irish Roots badge. I think my Devlins came from the Cookstown area but I hit a brick wall when they moved to England.
Hi Peggy,  You have the badge !!  Welcome to the Irish Roots and Tyrone Projects.
Hi Peggy! My aunt and I, Teresa (McClarin) Jenkins have suspected roots in co Tyrone McClaren(various sp).

My 3xgreat grandparents were George Love and Mary Moore who immigrated from County Tyrone to Ohio in 1791.  I have tried to find information about them but was told that the records in County Tyrone are very scarce.

Janice, your best bet is the church records. They're slowly coming on line.

Please add me to the list of participants. My 3xGGF came to the US in 1883 with his 5 children and his sister after his wife's death. They had lived in or around Fivemiletown with the older children being born in Corcreevy and the younger children being born in Gortmore. Surnames are Buchanan and Quinn.

Hi,

I am interested.  My 4th great grandfather George Love was born in County Tyrone and brought his family to Ohio in 1790.  Any information about his parents and the family are solely based on other trees.  I have not been able to find anything from his life in Ireland.  Found a note somewhere that the Loves came to Ireland from Scotland due to religious persecutions.

I have a brick wall relative in Tyrone Ireland. I not sure if to old to look up I only found United States records on him very Little information. Some on Geni thinks a Stephen or Steven McKee is father. The records I look at don’t go back to 1700’s. If I could get a lookup I appreciate it.

Hello Richard,

My Scots-Irish Hunter (and Huston) ancestors come from Donagheady, County Tyrone, near Strabane.  They left for America in 1810-11. I am very interested in searching for their parents, grandparents, etc.  I'm not sure how much help I will be in the near future, but I would love to join and do what I can.

My 2nd great grandmother, her siblings and parents are from County Tyrone, based on the Illinois death certificate for her father.  My 2nd great grandmother was Isabella Kearney Daniels (also found spelled Carney), (Kearney-969); daughter of John Kearney (Kearney-967) mother, Jane Surname unknown (Unknown-387591).  Would like to know what parish or area of Tyrone County they come from.  Do not believe they were Catholic as they attended Methodist churches after arriving in Will County, Illinois after 1850 and before 1860.

Hi Richard,

I would love to join. I am trying to follow the Dunlap roots. They have stalled in county Tyrone. On the Dunlap side, I believe I only had one direct ancestor that was born there. Information on his father is vague at best but has him as being born in Scotland. Michael MacDunlap and his wife Helen Patterson is where I have stalled.

Hi

I’m still very new on Wikitree, but I’d be interested in the Co Tyrone project. My Dad was from Cookstown, so grew up visiting the area and relatives there. So lots of surnames, the key ones are Greer, Henry, McIvor, but lots of others, Bole, Carson, Crooks, Glasgow, Lyttle, Mahood, Parke, Steel etc And the main parishes of interest are Kildress and Ardtrea.

No, I don't have roots in County Tyrone, but I do have roots  in Limerick and Clare. :-)

Then you would probably want the Ireland Project, rather than this particular Team.

Hi Richard!

My Hunter and Huston families came from Donagheady, County Tyrone, in about 1810, with suspected roots in Scotland about 100 years earlier.  They settled in PA, where they are well-documented, but have been a brick wall before that. Please add me to the County Tyrone sub-group!
