Sources for Jean Guveremont's parents

Hey, everyone!

I just adopted this profile and I notice that the parents are listed in the biography. There are no parents attached to this guy. So, what exactly do I need for sources to make profiles for his parents? They are Jean Guvremont (1645-1697) and Madeleine Langlois (1640-1741) according to geni. The names are from the Nos Origines and Fichier files. Not much other than that. Can I really go by those two alone to make the profiles? What about the dates? So many questions. (And so many threads this week.)

Here is the burial record for the father Jean Guevremont that is referenced in Fichier. [http://recherche.archivesdepartementales76.net/?id=viewer&doc=accounts%2Fmnesys_ad76%2Fdatas%2Fir%2Fserie_E_seigneuries_familles_notaires_etat_civil%2FFRAD076_IR_E_etat_civil%2Exml&page_ref=1116755&lot_num=1&img_num=1&index_in_visu=] Acte de sepulture, Archives de Seine-Maritime, Dieppe: Saint-Remy: 1679-1683, pg. 85 (bottom right hand page).  However, it looks like it says "un enfant de Jean Gueveremont" which concerns me that it is a burial of a child of Jean. I have a hard time reading the rest as I'm not fluent.

You are right, this record is for the burial of "a child of Jean Guevremont, about 4 years old". (un enfant à Jean Guevremont aagé d'environ quatre ans". the rest is about the witnesses, who are the same as for the burial just above.

Jean Guévremont's marriage record to Madeleine Carpentier names his parents:  Jean Guévremont and Madeleine Langlois.  Jean Guévremont the father is listed as ''feu Jean Guévremont'', so already deceased when this marriage occurs on 21 Jan 1697 in Champlain.  Most likely well before then, since Jean Guévremont arrived in the colony as a soldier in a marine detachment of troops.  Minimum 3 years term of service in such before he could have married.

So yes, with just that you have enough to create the parents.  Will write Fichier about the funeral that is for a child.

This appears to be the marriage of a brother of Jean Guèvremont junior (AD 76, Dieppe Saint-Rémy, BMS 1698, image 29/47) : on October 19, 1698, Adrien Quevremont, 29, son of Jean and Magdeleine Langlois, married Marguerite Nèpveu in Dieppe, Saint-Rémy parish.

Note that the name is spelled with a Q.

Adrien (and Jean) have an uncle also named Adrien Quevremont.

Jean's baptism, on December 3, 1666, also has is name spelled with a Q (AD 76, Dieppe Saint-Rémy, BMS 1663-1666, image 52/53). Compare the initial letter of Quevremont with that of Gillet (his godmother), they are clearly different (the tail of q goes to the right, while that of g goes to the left). So I think LNAB should be changed for both Jean and his father.

oh yes, often see that happening, Q or G appear to have sounded similar to some priests.
