That was literally the stupidest thing... "Refresh GedCom Matches" So I did, and it resubmitted it... ugh!! I cant stop it, and now have to wait some undetermined amount of time, again..

I thought it was going to refresh the page ...

Second time around was very quick. Bt the time I wrote this msg, it had been completed.

There are two different "Refresh" links on the main Gedcompare page.

  1. At the top, in the Add & Edit box, is a link to refresh the page display. (Easy and benign.)
  2. At the bottom there's a big button to Refresh the Suggested Matches. That button is the link that should be used with caution, as it will generate more suggested matches to review.

I can’t commiserate with that one, but I can offer some empathy.  I’ve uploaded quite a few GEDCOMs and have always wanted to go ahead and get them knocked out, just to find out I needed to wait until the report was ready at some inordinate point in the future.

Thanks for the warning, though!  I’ll try to learn from your mistake, rather than doing the same yes

I'd like to have an "are you sure?" chance to cancel it; I hit Refresh by accident once on a large GEDCOM that had many common surnames, and it was painful to have to go through another several hundred proposed matches, none of which were actual match and most of which were blatantly obviously bad matches.

I'll add this to the list of improvement suggestions for gedcompare.
