Looking for information on Laughlan McCormick b: Abt.1757 in Scotland d: 23.10.1845 in Maria, Quebec, Canada.  Married to Jean Lindsay from Scotland. Children were

Find his funeral, he is listed as Laughlin McCormick, 88 year old widower of Jane Lindsay, died 23 October 1845, funeral recorded 14 Nov 1845 in Sts-Anges-Gardiens de Cascapédiac (New Richmond), these were supplemental rites, why is not stated, named witnesses were Patrick Hamilton and Patrick Druhan.  https://www.genealogiequebec.com/Membership/LAFRANCE/img/acte/4094989  funeral image IGD Drouin (membership needed)

He was listed as a farmer on the record.  That location is in the Gaspé peninsula, facing south https://www.genealogiequebec.com/fr/LAFRANCE/carte/805 map of parishes Drouin (free I believe)
