According to his pension application and DAR apps of descendants, Burdettt's wife was Judith Cook.
Eddie......thanks much for the 3 replies to my question. This is good info on Burdett, some of it I did not have. Asa is by brick wall. I have visited the Historical Society in Franklin County and have records from 1807 to 1820. By researching William and Burdett, I hope to find a connection to Asa and where he came from. Asa's father is thought to be named William out of Wilkes County, NC, but this is unproven.

One again, thanks so much for the info.
The hard way to go but sometimes you strike gold

On Ancestry, choose "all records"

Arrow down to wills, land deeds, etc

When that form comes up, just type surname Leach, don't check exact, type in Georgia, check exact, read through everything looking for ASA, being mentioned. I usually go by decades. I'd start with 1790+-10 years, then 1800+-10 years etc.
Been there, done that. I have deed info from Franklin County Historical society.  Thanks.
