How can a MALE maiden name be removed without automatic repopulation with 'Anonymous' [closed]

Would it be a simple fix?

Should a duplicate profile be created and then merged with the original?

Would deletion of all profile info and/or disconnection from the family line be required? (Obviously not an optimal solution.)

Please advise.

The simple fix is to add in the correct name when you delete the incorrect name, or if you get the warning banner because you just deleted, then add in the name you want deleting anonymous
Thank you for your reply. The name then lists as, "Name (Name)" and still represents a maiden name designation for a male profile.
Nope. That is not what I see.

The problem is now fixed - in the public view.

It's doesn't really matter what your edited view says as long as the public view is correct.
Excellent! Thank you for your assistance.
Also, the name should be simply "Unknown." You have noted the male gender already. "Unknown-Male" is going to trigger a database suggestion.

Wikitree doesn't use the term "maiden name". We have "last name at birth", "current last name" and "other last names" all of which are gender non-specific.
