Is the Search option "only my Watchlist" working?

There are 663 entries listed when searching for John Lawson.  One of them is in my watchlist but does not appear in the first 100 displayed.  When I click the radio button for "only my Watchlist" in the search options, I get "Sorry, no matches were found".  The same problem occurs with other names.

Now that I look at it, an even worse problem is that only one John Lawson appears at the top of the search list, the others being name variants, when there are obviously many more.

D'oh!  Looks like my pre-mature senility kicked in as I asked pretty much the same question last year, https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/463231/only-my-watchlist-search-option-is-impaired.  Apparently it hasn't been fixed.

The second problem remains.

Sample screenshot:

I just successfully searched for a name in "only my watchlist" and I got results, so I think that function is working. (But the name I tested was an uncommon one, so it wasn't affected by the 100-item limit you mention.)

When we search for a common name, we will see only the first 100 results that the search algorithm found. This can be frustrating. There are several optional features that will improve the results:

  • Scroll down the results screen to the item that says "Include matches with surname variants?" and click "No." (Useful if you are sure of the spelling.)
  • Sort the results by birthdate. (Useful if you are looking for an early person).
  • Scroll down the results screen to enter a date and restrict the Date range for matching.
The  "radio button" works for my watchlist.    Somehow,  I missed seeing this option before,  so I appreciate the topic coming up.     I always seem to struggle with the 100 item limit.    No longer will I type in Ellison Plunkett to get to his son John Plunkett's profile.

We just started working on search improvements, and this is on the list of things to work on.
