Is there a Venting page?

Lady 1 had the wrong parents.   I connected her to her sister, Lady 2, who had the right parents.   I supplied 3 sources to support the change.  Lady 1 and Lady 2 had 3 brothers, I connected all 5 siblings together under the same parents ... a happy family so to speak.  .

A relative and profile manager of Lady 1 arrives.  Removes correct parents.  Creates what looks like duplicate profiles (using the correct names supplied) and separates Lady 1 from the happy family.   Gahhhh, it took ages to add sources to make the happy family, and now all I see is a sister separated and new unnecessary duplicate profiles made of the parents.

I think the relative is a wrecker.  Lol.  Hence my question is there a venting page.  Maybe time to take a break.

Yes, Pare, there is! By asking your question, you succeeded in venting at the same time. Venting is cool as long as it doesn't include personal attacks. The other person may be a stupid idiot -- think it, say it out loud, draw a picture and stab it with a pencil -- but don't put it in writing here!
Pare,

I notice you joined WikiTree  about a month ago.   Welcome!!

It's unfortunate this happened to you so soon...... I've been active on WikiTree since 2015 and nothing of this nature has happened to me yet.  Don't be discouraged,  you'll soon see how many great people you interact with.

Enjoy the hunt.
Jim Parish how do I make yours the best answer!

You are totally on the button... that WAS my vent.  Then I wrote a nice letter speaking only in profile numbers, called it OUR PLAN ... then fixed everything, and asked her to check if it was right.

Got an email not long ago saying "it all looks good".

Have you checked out Help:Problems_with_Members by chance? There are some steps you can look over on how to handle these types of situations, and I have found it helps me level-headed when a situation may arise.

It is very possible that the person in question is a new member and is not fully aware of WikiTree is all about, and how we work on collaboration. In this case, just walk through the steps listed on the page and see where that leads you - it could be just a misunderstanding where a Mentor could intervene and assist without any real complications for either party.

Hi Pare,

There isn't a venting page however we do have a group of people who deal with situations like this if you feel like you're unable to do so. smiley

Please see: Problems with members

Pare,

There is a better solution (better than venting).

First is to communicate with the member and find out what their source is for the change they made. (Keep the communications focused on the source/evidence.)

If that doesn't go well, request help through a Mentor Intervention Request form. You can find more about it here:

Good luck.
