Quakers ProjectWelcome to the Quakers Challenge! The challenge starts on the 1st and ends on the last day of the month.

This month, we are going to concentrate on adding the Quakers Sticker to profiles which have at least one source that indicates the person was a member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Profiles for any time period qualify.

Stickers are used for highlighting something that's deemed to be important about the person. On ancestor profiles please abide by the agreed-upon style rules. Learn more about Stickers in general on the Stickers Help page. See the Quakers Sticker page for Instructions on the use and placement of the sticker code.

Not everyone likes the look of stickers. If you are not the profile manager, please make contact before adding the sticker. If the PM does not want the sticker on the profile, please respect that. Refer to the Rules on Adding and Removing for further guidance.

Being Pre-1700 Certified is not required to participate. Everyone who adds stickers to at least two profiles will receive the Project Recognition Sticker for July 2018.

The Challenge Tracker option will be available. This YouTube video starting at about the 4.30 minute mark will explain how to use the tracker (earlier parts of the video explain how to find sources and add the citations to profiles). When using the Challenge Tracker, make sure to put the check mark in the square beside "Quakers Challenge" and add a comment. You can see up-to-date stats on the Quakers Challenge Tracker results page.

Please ask questions in the comments of this post. That has worked well so far, so let's continue it.

  • If you find an orphaned profile and don't want to be the manager, you may add the project account as the manager and add the code to create the Quakers Project Box (i.e. {{Quakers_Project}}) above the Biography heading. You can also add the email address to the trusted list to place any profile on the Project Watchlist.

I can participate in this challenge.  Is posting this comment all I need to do to participate?  I'm not sure what or where the "Quakers Project Challenge check box" is?

Hi Allen. When you save the changes to the profile, the Challenge Tracker link will appear in the green banner at the top of the profile. This YouTube video starting at about the 4.30 minute mark will explain how to use the tracker (earlier parts of the video explain how to find sources and add the citations to profiles). When using the Challenge Tracker, make sure to put the check mark in the square beside Quakers Challenge.

Hi Debi, I forgot to add my comment "added sticker to profile" to the  challenge tracker I just posted. Is there a way to add  a comment after the fact?
I think you may have figured it out, Lori, but just in case ... while you are still on the tracker page, just do it over with the comment. The tracker will only count it as one.
