Recently, I was working with another Tyler cousin who was using yDNA to verify family connections when I found a couple of references to William "Walking Billy" Tyler as a patriarch in his line. This persons "brick wall" was Henry Tyler who wed Malinda Earp - and this Henry is linked to William by several "sources".
These "sources" are Find-A Grave memorials 58990548, 115055809, and a DAR application reference from the 1950's - which are referenced in family trees and records on the other popular sites.
Unfortunately, the children listed on the application, and linked on the Find-A-Grave memorials, were all born in Georgia - and "Walking Billy" Tyler raised his family in Kentucky.
The results of the yDNA test show a very close connection to John R. Tyler (Tyler-2877), who had Henry Tyler (Tyler-1467) husband of Malinda Earp, as a brother to John's great, great grandfather.
Another site has William "Walking Billy" Tyler descendants, and there is no connection to the "Georgia" Tyler family.
