Is there a project that covers these pre-1700 people? Hendrick/Sikes in Connecticut/Massachusetts

I want to help contribute to the deep genealogy on our shared tree.

1.) Geographical region and time period: Wallingford, CT & Springfield, MA  1670-1750 or so.

2.) Some example names and dates: William Hendrick (b. 1680s), Abigail Sikes (b. 1670s)

3.) Source(s) for my information on them: Marriage (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XPJV-83T) Birth of child (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F744-DX3).

I have been working on updating these (existing) profiles, but wanted to check in before changing too much. Can you tell me if there is a WikiTree project that would cover these people? If so, how do I get in touch with the project members to coordinate and collaborate on the profiles?

Thanks!

The form about pre-1700 projects is supposed to encourage people to communicate and cooperate with the project(s) that have expertise about the particular situation (typically a place, historical event, or group) that a person or family of interest belongs to. Communication and cooperation can assist people with research, reduce the incidence of duplicates, and improve the quality of sourcing on pre-1700 profiles.

Coordination with a project does not require that the profile be managed by the project, and It is not necessary for every pre-1700 profile to be managed by project.

In this situation, Shawn ought to make contact with either the Connecticut project or the Massachusetts project (or both). Either project should be able to provide useful advice.

There is a Connecticut project, which is a subset of the United States History project, but it is best not to use it due to the way projects here need to be managed.  Here is another link to a G2G question that helps explain what is/was being considered as a replacement for the Connecticut Project: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/537733/connecticut-project-need-sticker-removing-project-template

There is also a high-level Connecticut category, but profiles should only be added to one of the subcategories of Connecticut. Here is further info on that: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Connecticut. For Wallingford, you could use the category Category: Wallingford, Connecticut which would have double brackets on both ends. You can look at this profile for an example: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Andrews-247. Since Wallingford was part of New Haven, you could also add that category.

Thanks for contributing to our collective family tree.

Here is another G2G thread about joining the Connecticut project as a member, which would be a great way to interact with others interested in Connecticut: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/357157/connecticut-sub-project-united-states-history-project-join?show=640026#c640026

Hi Shawn,

I'm the manager of the Connecticut project. Not everyone who lived in Connecticut and Massachusetts pre-1700 needs to be under the protection of a project.
In general feel free to update profiles in Connecticut that need proper sourcing and more information. Abigail definitely falls into that group. Ask yourself: Does what I'm adding add value to the profile. Always, always source your changes and updates etc. When making large changes like relationships try to contact the manager first.
The family search records you've cited are fine. The Massachusetts one has an image of what actually looks like the original. I'm fairly certain that the Connecticut Births and Christenings, although a derivative source is based on copies of the original records. (so room for copying errors, but ok.)
If you have questions, ask. In G2G add the tags, so we'll see them.
