Charrie Elizabeth Smith research assistance needed, please.

Question

This question is being asked on behalf of Carmen Benner-208.

Charrie Elizabeth Smith B May 25 1916 New York D Nov 27 1991.  Father John Smith (of course)

Married to John Franklin Bornheimer about 1934. John was born Jan 3 1913 D Apr 28 1988  They had nine children.

Charrie then left and Married Russel Blaisdell and had one child.  She is burried in Martville Cemetery, Sterling, New York.

She lived in Oswego, New York as a child, and lived the remaing part of her life in Richland, New York.

A younger brother, John Smith Jr (of course) was born around 1918.  

 

There may be a Ross Smith and Mabel Granger connected to  Charrie and John Smith Jr.... some sort of relation (contact Carmen for more details).

 

Additional info:  1930 census shows Charrie and John Smith living with a John Granger (b about 1855) and Libbie Granger (b about 1875) in Schroepell, Oswego, New York.

There is also information that Charrie and John Jr's. parents ran a nursing home in 1946, probably in New York as well.  (My two cents...since the kids were with possible grandparents in 1930, it is possible that their mother had died and that she may be a Granger and that the parents running the nursing home may be the father John Sr and a step mother????)

Carnen is trying to get information regarding the parents of Charrie and of course, hopefully go back from there.  Carmen sent me all the details and was having difficulty posting here in G2G so I put everything she sent (since it's a Smith :) in here.  It is a researh thing.  I thank you for your response!

Hello Chris, please be patient with me, this is new for me.  To make a long story short I am searching for the parents of:

Charrie Elizabeth Smith/Bornheimer/Blaisdell b.25 May 1916 d 27 November 1991 (and her brother) John Smith Jr. b 30 June 1918 d 23 April 1983

The parents may not of been married.  Both Charrie and John were born in Altmar and attended the Altmar schools.  John Jr had a dairy farm on Country Road 22 in Orwell, Oswego, New York.  I was told he lived accross the street from his dad.

I welcome any information on the family.

This is a possibility?  In 1930 Cherry and John Smith are living with grandparents John and Libbie Granger.  (Maybe that's were Jr came in- after his grandfather?)

John Granger and Libby/Elizabeth Murray had several daughters.  Mabel married 1913, at age, 15 an Al Broderick..  Then she remarried in 1916 Ross Smith.  From the records of her siblings, John Granger, children etc. were all b. in aroung Altmar.  The parents names and locations  are on the various marriage records - too many to fit here.  In 1930 Ross A Smith living in Albion, divorced???   I am not familiar with all the local towns, but many of the records are within 10-30 miles of Altmar.

Thank you!  I had Ross and Mabel connected but because the family said they thought his name was John I dismissed it (well, sorta, I kept all the paperwork I had printed off) The information you supplied showing the marriage record helps me a lot in putting this all together...is there also a book with births listed in it, like the marriage one?  Charrie was born May 1916, which means Mabel was already 9 months pregnant when her and Ross married.
